Which bin for shredded paper?
Usual answer in the UK
Recycling Mixed recycling bin
Councils differ most on this one. Some want shredded paper in a paper bag in recycling, others in garden or food waste, and some in general waste.
Also possible: Garden waste bin; Food waste caddy.
How to prepare it
Put it in a paper bag or envelope so it does not scatter.
Does every council do this?
Most councils follow the answer above, but bins and sorting rules are set locally, and a few councils still do things differently. If your bin has a sticker, or your council sent a leaflet, follow that. Enter your postcode to go straight to your council's guidance.
