How bins work in Wales
Every council in Wales is single-tier, so the same council collects your bins and runs the local recycling centres.
Welsh councils have some of the highest household recycling rates in the world. Many collect recycling every week and ask households to sort materials into separate boxes, bags or caddies at the kerbside rather than mixing everything in one bin. General waste is often collected less often, and some councils limit how many black bags you can put out.
