Which bin for bubble wrap?
Usual answer in the UK
General waste General waste bin
Bubble wrap is plastic film, which most councils do not collect yet. Put it in general waste or take it to a supermarket soft plastics point.
Also possible: Shop or take-back point.
How to prepare it
Councils in England must collect plastic film from 31 March 2027, so this will change in many areas.
Does every council do this?
Most councils follow the answer above, but bins and sorting rules are set locally, and a few councils still do things differently. If your bin has a sticker, or your council sent a leaflet, follow that. Enter your postcode to go straight to your council's guidance.
